Entertaining
Not the best history to be had, but it's fun and sexy in the first season, accepting the pilot which is really clunky. The second season, particularly the second half of the second season, is DARK so... don't watch it if you don't like torture...

Not the best history to be had, but it's fun and sexy in the first season, accepting the pilot which is really clunky. The second season, particularly the second half of the second season, is DARK so... don't watch it if you don't like torture scenes. It picks up again when Anne of Cleves and Katherine Howard arrive in season three, I personally didn't like the actress who played Anne Boleyn, and I was annoyed that they didn't make Henry VIII gain any weight. I guess having a fat protagonist is bad for ratings.

SPOILER ALERT.....Season 1, I call Getting Rid of Katherine-I really loved this TV Series of "THE TUDORS". I am glad that I rented it. I have watch most of the movies about "Elizabeth I" and there was always something missing, I could not understand how with the death of Anne Boleyn, her beheading to be more precise, how Elizabeth was still allowed to ascend to the throne. Why was there so much hatred and animosity between her and her half sister, well those answers and here, and the answers to many many more questions that a person might have regarding The Tudors or Elizabeth, or Katherine (Henry's First Wife). This series is fabulous, a must see. Want to really know about Sir Thomas More, (The Man For All Seasons)? If you have the slightest bit of interest in the Elizabeth, or the Tudors this series is a absolute must. I gave it 5*****STARS

Throw your history books away if you expect to enjoy this series. The Tudors is named after a very famous English family, and most of the characters are based on real people, but as history there's a lot to be desired. That said, it's not supposed...

Throw your history books away if you expect to enjoy this series. The Tudors is named after a very famous English family, and most of the characters are based on real people, but as history there's a lot to be desired. That said, it's not supposed to be a documentary but another Showtime series full of sex and violence. It does those parts well.
