Based on a novel by spy writer John Le Carre, TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY remains one of the most acclaimed British mini-series of all time. Alec Guinness turns in a superlative performance as George Smiley, a former spy who was forcibly retired after an internal scandal in the British Secret Intelligence Service. When it's discovered that a Russian spy has infiltrated the organization's highest levels, Smiley is brought back into service to covertly spy on his former colleagues and root out the double agent. This gripping tale of Cold War espionage was followed by the sequel SMILEY'S PEOPLE.
