Summary of The Nanny
Television's most loveable nanny is also the most anachronistic. Fran Drescher stars as Fran Fine, a Queens girl through and through, with a supermodel face, gorgeous figure, flashy taste in apparel, and an enormous heart. After getting fired from her job at a bridal shop owned by the boyfriend who just dumped her, Fran is at a loss for what to do next. Selling cosmetics door to door, she shows up at Maxwell Sheffield's Park Avenue door at just the right time; recently widowed, Maxwell is desperate to find a nanny for his three children, and invites Fran to have a go. Fran accepts, bringing not only her blue-collar sensibilities and eccentric cast of acquaintances into the upscale Sheffield home, but a new warmth as well, turning the troubled family into a happy, healthy one. Soon, the growing attraction between Fran and Maxwell also becomes apparent, which causes limitless agony for Maxwell's business partner C.C., who carries a not-so-secret flame for the very eligible bachelor.
