Overall a GREAT show
Supernatural's first 5 seasons have the perfect balance of humor, drama, and horror as well as a wonderful portrayal of family bonds. The six season, however, is disappointing. While there are a few must see episodes ('Weekend at Bobby's' and 'The French Mistake') the latest season feels weak.
I would HIGHLY recommend watching seasons 1-5 of the show. These seasons are great. (not without flaws, though. The show's treatment of it's supporting characters, especially women, is a little sad.) I wouldn't go against watching season 6 - just know that the show looses a bit of it's charm in this less-than-impressive season.

This show got me hooked the first time I saw it. A nail biter that has original ideas from those that are written in myth. It never gets boring and it never repeats the same concept. It's intense with humor to mix the themes. It's a thriller with drama. A tragedy and horror winding itself with sarcastic scoffing comedy. Thumbs up to the Winchester brothers, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padelecki, for this show wouldn't have been as great without their serious acting skills and amazing contributions to the show. 5 stars.

Right from the first episode Supernatural grabs your attention with an intense storyline that evolves as brothers Sam and Dean Winchester continue their father John's work of hunting "the things in the dark." Each episode offers another unique mythical creature for the boys to hunt, all along the way keeping the plot in the forefront as they learn more about there unavoidable destiny to either save the world, or destroy it.
