Stargate: Atlantis, 2004 - 2009

Since the show has one primary enemy from the pilot to the very end, it might seem like it could get repetitive. In some cases, it does; that's why I don't give it 10/10. But the writers, as a rule, did an extremely good job at keeping the plots varied while still centering around one (very dislikable and evil) enemy. The Wraith far surpass the Ori as an entertaining enemy, and even begin to rival the Goa'uld, in my opinion, as far as an enjoyable show goes. When the replicators showed up, it seemed like a rather coincidental transference of a rather charismatic enemy to another show and galaxy, but hey, who cares, it makes it more interesting. The characters, too, are very well-developed. From the know-it-all, arrogant, snobbish and heroic genius to the super-buff alien who can never be beaten in single combat (every show needs one of these guys), the characters are always real and never cheesy or predictable. All in all, Atlantis provides a very entertaining, but never too predictable, show. I say it's not "too predictable" because the viewer always knows what things will be like at the end (same with all Stargate episodes, actually), but never how it's going to get there. Of course the Wraith and the replicators will be ultimately defeated, but how? That's what makes the show a good one.
