Phenomenal. And on this happy occasion, I can start by talking about the special features. We didn't get to watch this show in the states so we have to talk about the dvds. Any of the disks are a delight. It's a character driven drama going so far focus all 9 episodes on one of the main characters. The third disk, only a single episode and extra features, is what makes this series 5 star. Deleted scenes are delivered in the form of "Ancillary Stories" and "Video Diaries." The ancillaries are complete vignettes often insightful to the characters if a little fantastical at times. The diaries are all good except for one but do some to explain some back story the show just zoomed past. Skins is often clever and funny. It isn't realistic, but it is great television. Wonderful bits of the English language, wonderfully acted roles, and a snappy story pace makes the entire season exceptional. Whether meditating on a nearly hidden character in Effy's episode or pumping the verve of life in Chris's episode, it will be difficult for you to choose a favorite character, much less an episode. And the drama is written in such a way that you may go from liking to disliking to liking again a character that's around only 2 episodes. Wonderful, gilded escapism and a freaking beautiful music selection. There are subtitles available if you have trouble hearing English, Scottish or Rasblaat.
