Like many, I didn't find this series when it first came out. But I came to it because of the very likeable Damian Lewis. Most would know him as Maj. Richard Winters in Band of Brothers. Because of these two roles, most would not know that he is a Brit. Sarah Shahi plays his partner and she is given enough flaws to distract you from the fact she is drop-dead gorgeous.
While this, in many ways, a standard LA cop show, the unique perspective of Crews and the interplay with the back story make this really entertaining.
One of the more interesting things to me is that the casting director got lazy and just hired the entire cast of Deadwood to fill in minor character parts. Not that I'm complaining. In fact, it was a treat to see Robin Weigert with clean hair and Titus Welliver and Michael Harney without mustaches. Of course William Sanderson remains one of the squirrelliest characters and Garrett Dillahunt creates another totally evil folks of the year.
A really fun show!
