Summary of Jane Eyre
Charlotte Brontë's Gothic romance gets the BBC and Masterpiece Theater treatment in this two-part miniseries. Ruth Wilson plays the title role, one of the most beloved characters in classic fiction, thanks to her independence and intelligence. After a difficult childhood, Jane finds work as a governess at Thornfield Hall. There she meets and falls in love with its mysterious owner, Edward Rochester (Toby Stephens), though things aren't as simple as they seem. Prior to this role, Stephens may have been most recognizable for playing a Bond villain in DIE ANOTHER DAY. But he turns in a performance here that may place him next to Colin Firth's legendary Mr. Darcy in the hearts of viewers.
