House M.D., 2004 - 2012

House M.D., is obviously a series that you watch for its character: Gregory House. This grumpy, unhappy, sharp-tongued character makes this show what it is. Most of us probably don't identify ourselves with this House character (performed brilliantly by Hugh Laurie) because he is so socially incapable and rotten inside. But Laurie's characterization makes this seemingly repulsive guy very lovable and very original. He might be a brilliantly smart doctor, but his problems with people are never-ending. On the other hand, even though the character is a major reason i follow the episodes eagerly, it is also because of the analysis of the human psychology it offers. Which is not as boring as it could have been, but very entertaining along with the exiting process of diagnostic medicine. The series also offers a beautiful character development. But (yep, there's always a but), the structure of the storyline repeats itself after a few episodes you watch. This situation might be a little frustrating and disappointing from time to time but writers always come up with an original situation for you to shut your eyes to the repetition deep down in the structure of the storyline.
