I was very disappointed in this one. The production values are high, particularly for a TV miniseries, but the acting is just off, despite the presence of some very good actors. Robert Carlyle plays Hitler as completely maniacal, 0 to Screaming in 2 seconds. I disagree with the reviewer who said this movie explains why people followed him. He is portrayed as scary, insane, annoying and a loose cannon. There are several scenes of people saying, basically, "This guy is nuts. This guy is not human." This movie is also incredibly boring, because Hitler is being played with the same one note in every single scene. If you're going to spend 3 hours telling the story of Hitler's rise to power, you should make it historically accurate, not present a political cartoon of what happened.br
Lastly, a minor point - I'm sure Robert Carlyle can do a German accent, and the rest of the cast probably can as well - so why does it sound like most of the Germans are from England, with the occasional American thrown into the mix?
