Profile of Heroes

The mood of Heroes is exciting, atmospheric, and suspenseful. The plot centers around superheroes, saving the world, and supernatural abilities. It is a drama, fantasy, and action TV show. Stylistically, Heroes involves twists and turns and stars an ensemble cast. In approach, it is fantastical and serious. The pacing is fast. Heroes is set in New York. It happens in the future. Visually, it involves special effects. Heroes is known for being an award winner and critically acclaimed. It is especially suggested for teens.

Summary of Heroes

Combining comic book style and geeky in-jokes, HEROES is a stellar series that draws comparisons to fan favorites such as LOST and THE X-FILES. But thanks to its well-drawn characters and intricate plot, this drama reels in more than just superhero fans. HEROES revolves around the premise of seemingly ordinary people developing fantastic powers. There's Claire (Hayden Panettiere, ICE PRINCESS), a Texas cheerleader who can't be killed. Matt (Greg Grunberg, ALIAS) is a cop in Los Angeles who can read minds. New Yorker Peter (Milo Ventimiglia, GILMORE GIRLS) has the power to adopt other heroes' abilities, while his politician brother (Adrian Pasdar, JUDGING AMY) has a special power of his own. Though the show boasts many other characters, its secret weapon is Hiro (Masi Oka), a Japanese office worker who is delighted to discover he can move through space and time. But heroes wouldn't be heroes if there weren't villains and a coming apocalypse to fight, and the show features a truly creepy bad guy in the seemingly omnipotent Sylar (Zachary Quinto).

Great idea but too many plotholes

Great idea but too many plotholes

The story is great and exciting, it makes you want to see more. The casts are also good, and I don't see any problems with acting either. For me though, it's the amount of plotholes in the movie that is just too much. There are just too many "huh??!" moments that'are just frustrating. For example, you are searching for some clues on what your late father's research is about. You opened his laptop, looking for clues, but nothing after sometime. You then get upset, and throw the laptop to the floor, it breaks into peaces, and a small paper magically appear containing all the clues that you're looking for. Huh? More: A nuke explodes several kilometers away. People see the flash, and simultaneously hear the bang. Huh? Hello, the speed of sound vs speed of light? -- You enter an organization to bring it down from the inside. Does it make sense to tell the organization that you intend to do that? -- Your arch enemy that you spend one season trying to eliminate appears in front of you, and he has lost all of his powers. He's asking for an injection to bring all his powers back. Does it make sense to give him the injection so he could recover all his powers and terrorize everybody again? You'll notice these plotholes in season one, and it gets worse in season two. Haven't seen season three yet. Plus the appearance (and disappearance) of random people with special ability, which doesn't seem to contribute much to the story. The same with nested flashbacks (or time travel in this case). All in all it feels like the authors just went with the easy way to create the plot or solve problems with the story (and having heroes with arbitrary abilities at your disposal are handy for these), and that's disappointing considering that this could achieve a lot more. For me at least.

Stop watching after the first season.

Seriously, it will save you a lot of disappointment. I watched the show from the time it premiered until the final episode, hoping that the show would recapture the greatness of the first season. Sadly the rest of the show comes nowhere near the... Read and rate it
