Summary of Everwood
After the sudden death of his wife, successful Manhattan surgeon Andrew Brown (Treat Williams) uproots his family and medical practice to Everwood, Colorado, a small mountain town with sentimental connections to his dead wife. Dr. Brown's impulsive decision baffles those around him, most notably his sullen but sensitive teenage son Ephram (Gregory Smith), who struggles to adjust to his new surroundings while falling for the town physician's troubled daughter, Amy Abbott (Emily VanCamp). Created by Greg Berlanti, writer for teen series Dawson's Creek and Young Americans, Everwood is a warm family drama that explores the grieving process and the pangs of adolescence with intelligence, sensitivity, and a bucolic fish-out-of-water atmosphere reminiscent of the late great Northern Exposure.
