Summary of Dream On

Both shows also employ the use of ample nudity and simulated sex, though DREAM ON certainly was first to attempt it. Martin Tupper (Brian Benben) is a divorced book publisher who tries as best he can to raise a teenage son (Chris Demetral) and remain friends with his psychotherapist ex-wife Judith (Wendie Malick). Though he frequently is shown dating and seducing many woman, he is not-so secretly still in love with Judith. This passion burns all the more brightly when she marries a brilliant scientific genius that annoyingly embodies the idea of Renaissance Man. This story is punctuated by Martin's subconscious, which often takes the form of interjected old movie clips (similar to the quirky daydreams that gave Ally McBeal such a charmingly complex personality). The dated sound bytes from the films juxtaposed with modern scenarios, draws some serious giggles.
