Love this show- possibly my favorite of all time.
Directions are genius, actors are phenomanal. Throughout thier seven year run they manage to make you laugh, cry, jump in the air and hide your eyes again and again.

Oh Joss, how I love thee
I had long stayed away from Buffy, simply because I partly knew I'd love it, and partly because I thought I'd hate it. Whedon is a genius... we all know it, and Buffy shows just how much of a genius he really is! Like the others said before me, if you only watch one show in entirity, make it Buffy. If you only watch one episode of Buffy, make it Once More With Feeling. Buffy isn't the supernatural cliche you'd expect, but is more a bildungsroman (coming of age) story with some epically amazing humour.

Absolutely brilliant
I can wholeheartedly second the previous reviewer: if you were to watch only one TV show in your life, make it Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Although the title and the initial impression might fool you, make no mistake: Buffy is a brilliant production, rich in dark humour and popcultural references in a way that has leaves you craving more and more. To anyone who was put off by the initial overview, I strongly recommend watching the third season, which in my opinion begins the truly amazing period in the show's life. Episodes you cannot miss are: the critically acclaimed "Hush" (410), "Once More, with Feeling" (607) and "Restless" (422). Those episodes are stellar examples of how the show's creator, Joss Whedon, has challenged the TV series format.

Textually rich and never lacking in humor, Buffy the Vampire slayer is one televsion show that you can't miss watching. Joss Weadon creates a metaphorical world where vampires and monsters are the literal representation of what anyone who's experanced high school can tell you: High school is a horror. Underneath the glib title and California sunshine is a TV how that adresses life with though and complexity. Highlights include "Prophecy girl," and "Never Kill a Boy on the First Date."
