Creative and rapid-fire comedy. I find Tracy a bit unnerving, but his character fits nicely with the ensembele. All around, a great modern day work comedy.

When it comes to sitcoms, Hollywood is mostly clueless about what we think is funny. They feed us a steady diet of lowbrow comedy assuming that we will become exhausted and flustered if we were forced to actually think about what we are seeing. The laugh tracks, pop-culture references, and double entendres have become so familiar to us that we have dropped our standards to an all-time low, and Charlie Sheen is somehow considered funny now. It would seem that Hollywood has underestimated us, or perhaps it is true that the collective intellect of this country has dropped so low that TWO AND A HALF MEN can be a certifiable hit. Well, it really does not matter to the rest of us, because usually any period of artistic stupidity is met with a reply of sharp, witty comedy. The best sitcom on television right now is the brilliant Tina Fey vehicle - 30 Rock, a sarcastic look at the very industry from where it was born. It is a wild mix of absurd characters, political satire, and topical skewering. The cast is just amazing, arguably one of greatest ever, and even if it will never get the absurdly high ratings of a more formulaic sitcom, perhaps something that features a situation where Charlie Sheen struggles to remember the name of one of the numerous girls he has slept with (that sounds hilarious, right?), it will always be loved and respected by those of us that believe that it has set the bar higher than Hollywood is usually willing or able to clear. Watch 30 Rock as soon as possible, because most of the alternatives are just plain stupid, and that is what Hollywood thinks you are. (9/4/02)

I just love this series! The performances are great from everyone (especially Alec Baldwin), and I had more than a few hearty laughs during an episode.
I can't wait for season 3 of this hilarious series!

10/10Must See
The Mary Tyler Moore Show crossed with The Larry Sanders Show. Amazing writing, with sharp direction and performances. Even the editing and music are so good as to be unsustainable. (If producers are reading, please substitute Alec with the rest of the Baldwin brothers or use a different character each week sitting in a ball chair, wearing a #2 button a la "The Prisoner".)
