Written by director and co-star ADRIENNE SHELLY. One of the most delightful movies that I have ever seen. I just loved it. "WAITRESS"- THE PIE MOVIE. Makes you want to make pies after you watch it. I'll always remember Adrienne Shelly from the movie she made "TRUST" along with co-star MARTIN DONOVAN. She will be missed, what a fantastic talented person she was, and what a horrible tragedy regarding the way she died. I am saddened by her death. But she left us this wonderful love letter of a movie. I give this movie the highest rating.

Waitress makes for an overall sweet story and movie. I expected a little more humor (What with Cheryl Hines in the mix), but found it mostly had sustained dry humor. I was very pleased with Keri Russell's performance in Waitress, as well as Adrienne Shelly's understated acting. Everyone seemed down to Earth, and you are easily sucked into their world. Andy Griffith was a surprise, I did not know he was in this film, but his appearance was good to see. I liked Waitress, and appreciated the "realness" of it all. Hoped for more laughs, but it was good all the same!

What is wrong with everyone in the whole world? Everyone loves this movie and it is, quite technically, horrible. The plot is insipid, the dialogue painfully unnaturalistic, the characters unlikeable, the conflict manufactured, and the whole pie gimmick? Stupid, fake and not even clever. Don't watch this; it doesn't deserve viewers. (and no, I will not be kind to it because it's writer/director died. It's still a crap movie)

This is a pretty unusual film about a woman stuck in a difficult marriage who works at a pie shop. She expresses her creativity and feeling thru baking her pies. The stroy line is a bit whimsical and cute, as she has an affair with her doctor after she finds out she is pregnant. A cute film, nothing to deep, but still cute.
