Cute, but a bit cruel to begin with
Although to be fair if I were just rating the first ten minutes of the movie, I'd rate it a "must see" - but the rest of it's really good too. Nothing can possibly live up to that first ten minutes.
Damn those first ten minutes...

This is good.
I'm a sucker for most Disney/Pixar, as well as some classic Disney, but I can't say I like this just for its genre. This movie is really something special. I'd say the characters' vibrancy is well above Pixar's average, the story line (finally)...

This is good.
I'm a sucker for most Disney/Pixar, as well as some classic Disney, but I can't say I like this just for its genre. This movie is really something special. I'd say the characters' vibrancy is well above Pixar's average, the story line (finally) centers around some *real people*, and overall, if I had to pick the top two Disney/Pixar movies, this is one of them.
(#1 is still Bolt. I'm sorry, I'm looking, but still can't find anything better.)

Real Life Beautifully Animated
The most unsuspecting storyline of an animated film. This is the most realistic "cartoon" that I have ever seen. It offers something for everyone. Inspirational with DEEP lessons and themes. My late friend's favorite movie. Rest in Eternal Peace...

I loved this movie and had to hide my tears through most of it, in an attempt to avoid embarrassment. Besides being sentimental it was fun. The cast, music, video quality, and sound track borders on perfection. My favorite movie of 2009!

The more I think about this movie, the more I realize what a masterpiece it is. Pixar has never come as close to perfection as they did with Up. It basically touches every base that a good, emotionally tugging movie should. Pixar can say more with cartoons and computers than most other studios can with real people. Should have won Best Picture, The Hurt Locker wasn't nearly as good as this.

I went and bought it a few days ago and watched it and I enjoyed it alot more than in the cinama. Do yourself a favour and pick this one up. :)

Up caught me by surprise as I never noticed the marketing. This film is lovely in both attitude and execution. The pacing is unbeatable. In a world that sometimes seems filled with mean people, mean institutions and mean humor, Up is friendly, affirming and deeply moving. The humor is even clever. Definitely worth your time and money. A definite must for watching in Blu-ray format as is the case for all Pixar movies.
