I liked Twilight. I enjoyed it very much, it is one of the most sanitized vampire movies ever to be released, not much blood as compared to Tru Blood. A new twist on Vampires being able to not have to go to ground at the crack of dawn. Dr Cullen (head of the Vampire Family) holds down a regular 9-5 job. This movie is different and the stars are attractive. Because the movie is so well done I give it 5*****STARS.

Having read the book, I can safely say this is a terrible movie adaptation. I think 3 Men and a Baby is a better movie version of the Twilight book than this film is.

Having read the book, I can safely say this is a terrible movie adaptation. I think 3 Men and a Baby is a better movie version of the Twilight book than this film is.
Kristen Stewart plays Bella, which seems like a good match, except Kristen's personality AND looks are nothing like I imagine Bella to look like.
The shear idea of Robert Pattinson playing "the most beautiful person [Bella has] ever seen" is a joke. I'm not one to judge other men, but I know that they could've found a more attractive and more appropriate fit for someone who's supposed to be "gorgeous".
The acting was sleep-inducing, which gave it a common factor with the special effects.
If you value your money, don't bother seeing this movie. Read the books.

My best friend told me that i "must see this movie", so i went into it with more or less an open mind, as i had not read the books. However about 30 minutes in i began to ealize that movie had no true plot besides the girl loves guy she can't have....

However about 30 minutes in i began to ealize that movie had no true plot besides the girl loves guy she can't have. That alone i could deal with, had it not been coupled with such a terrible representation of vampires. I am not a "vampire nerd" or anything however, even i know that vampires were all about the lust and animal urges inside us. It seems like the movie takes thta idea and domesticate it down to the level of a hermit crab pet. Calling this a vampire movieis like calling Balto a werewolf movie. This is by no means an acceptable representation of vampires and combined with the lack of any substantial plot, makes this movie a waste of your time and money.

I am 56 and have never read the books. I loved the movie and thought it had just the right amount of action/drama ratio. The men and boys (57,33, 16) that I watched it with also liked it but not as much as I did. Not enough action was their reason....

First off, sure thier vampires, sort of, but are they really vampires... NO!!!
If it's teenage angst vampires you want...rent The Lost Boys, the first one, not Lost Boys 2, The Tribe...I'll deal with that one on it's own!
If you want vampire bloodiness, just go to the vapire sub-genre, and get pretty much anything with 3 stars or above...
If you want a good vampire flick (gore and sleaze), go with 2 stars or less, those are the best...and make sure Franco or Rollin are involved with it, then, it's a classic!!

This film is so bad, that it only manages to be beaten in its low-production value by its successor Twilight: New Moon.

Rated 3 stars only because there is no 2.5 INDIFFERENT option. Very lame translation of a film based on a book. Problems include casting choices, dialogue, and plot holes. The fascination and craze with vampires led the studio and director to put out a crappy movie. Hopefully the other films in the saga will learn from the mistakes of this one and also listen to the fans. See it, but read the book for the real of enjoyment of falling in love with a vampire.
