Turistas, 2006

The good news: it isn't torture porn, like it was marketed, which means I don't have to despise it like I do 'Hostel'. However, it also isn't really anything. It isn't horror, not at all. It also isn't suspense (but it almost is!). It also isn't action (but it almost is!). And it certainly isn't drama. I almost, almost, almost liked it, but you spend the entire time wondering when something is going to happen. I almost wished they would have done some torturing, cause then I could at least have turned it off. Warning: there is one scene that is difficult to watch that borders on torture, but it is short, and unlike in the 'Hostel' films, there is at least some motivation and discernable reason for the scene. My girlfriend and I fast-forwarded through the scene and were no more behind in the 'action' for having done it.
