Transporter 3, 2008

Jason Statham in a suit = eye candy. Jason Statham shirtless = MAJOR eye candy. Jason Statham in nothing but boxer shorts = swoon. Oh yeah, there is also the French guy, a lady in a mini-dress, fancy driving, a few explosions, fight sequences and T-Bag from Prison Break. Just so you know what you're renting. If you enjoy any of those, you will probably like this one.

Statham is back again, this time as an unwilling transporter forced to perform a delivery (like the previous movies) of an unknown item to an unknown location for unknown reasons. Of the 3 Transporter movies, this one is the least interesting and entertaining. The problems are multiple - in spite of starting off with good potential. My biggest problem is the fight scenes - they just sucked. Statham can fight, and he can perform excellent stunts, but instead we get scenes where it's half-second cuts all strung together so you never really get the feeling for the whole fight. He does eventually fight a huge dude that is decent, but the others aren't that great. Secondly, Natalya Rudakova who plays the russian girl is miserable as an actress - however she's easy on the eyes (no nudity though, hmph). But really, all that could be overlooked if the story were even partially interesting - but it's not. It's almost a rehash of the first one, but instead of people in containers it's hazardous waste, come on. Lastly, if he's the transporter let's see some really really great driving scenes! Bond's Quantum of Solace had an excellent opening driving scene that sets the standard at least, and this drops the ball big time. There's no rating for neutral feelings, so I'll give it 3 stars.
