Summary of Threshold
Dr. Gehring (Jeff Goldblum) is a brilliant scientist who invented the world's first viable artificial heart. After his invention successfully replaces the damaged heart of a young woman, Carol (Mare Winningham), the media learn of this astounding medical breakthrough and both Gehring and Dr. Vrain (Donald Sutherland), the surgeon who performed the surgery, become celebrities. But soon the question of ethics is raised, and the lives of the doctors and their patient are forever changed.
