Summary of The Work of Director Jonathan Glazer
WORK OF DIRECTOR JONATHAN GLAZER: Having made the successful directorial leap from music videos to major motion pictures, Jonathan Glazer (BIRTH, SEXY BEAST) has some of his early work collected here. It's unlikely Glazer would have got to brush shoulders with stars such as Ben Kingsley and Nicole Kidman without becoming an innovator in his field, and that's exactly what happened in his first music videos. Taking the medium by the scruff of its neck, Glazer delivered startlingly original videos for acts such as Radiohead, Blur, and Jamiroquai. While shooting these promos, Glazer also built up an impressive body of commercial work, with big names such as Stella Artois, Guinness, and Levis all getting a major image overhaul thanks to the director's vision. This release from the Directors Series label draws on many of Glazer's projects, including music videos and commercials, and it also features interviews with such luminaries as Kingsley, Kidman, and SEXY BEAST star Ray Winstone.
