rich boy goes through hardship
You gotta love this. Spoilt prick is tested by his self-made grandpa billionaire before he gets to rake in the millions of the inheritance. It is an age old cliche to have a young man who has been used to the luxuries of live to go through some hardship and grow of age with some valuable lessons about priceless values like friendship, honor, family, trust and what have you. It has been done many times before, but this time around the megalomania of the writers took a page from Hercules and cut the test into several (twelve or not, who cares) tests, each with their own magnificent meaning.
In case you hadn't caught my sarcastic tone, here is the Ultimate Necessity to reveal it and make it Ultimately clear, that calling something Ultimate and make it look by its form like an Ultimate (Herculean!) test, implodes and pathetically turn into revoltingly sweet slush, when the tests are not so hard, not so real, the development of the main character not so convincing and by the end you shape the Ultimate Gift into a cardboard box with plasticized cards you can purchase for $12.99 at the ultimatekitsch.com and claim with average housewives to witness, it will ULTIMATELY save your family life.
If you'd add one drop of sugar it'd turn into the Ultimate Parody of Family Value Effuse.

Just OK, So why was this movie made at all?
I have no idea why was this movie made. everything about it - the story, the acting, and all the rest - are just OK. not good, not bad, not touching in any way. you can watch it. or not.

One star -- and it doesn't even deserve that. I can't believe the overall reviews average out to 4.5.

If Lifetime and Hallmark got together and said, "Let's see how cheesy a movie we can make," this is what they'd come up with. My wife and I were appalled about 1/3 the way into it but sat through it all because it was so terrible that we just had to see how it was going to turn out.
It didn't help that the thing started off with the author of the book behind the movie telling us to make sure we watched the comments at the end so we'd know how to continue the good work. We didn't watch but I'd bet the rent that he was selling something. They always are.
Don't bother with this turkey!
