Let The Wrong One In
watching this movie was like watching a train wreck. Its horrible, yet you cant look away. Do non mistake this for being so bad that its good. I am simply saying that I was constantly surprised at how terrible this movie is, and the reaction that it receives. for a movie so flawed in many ways it is disturbing to know that tweens are watching this. The random pauses that occur whenever a male character walks in shirtless is one example of how manipulative the movie is. Then the somewhat disturbing fact that the main character Bella is constantly being told what to do. Throughout the whole movie she has no say in what happens, she is either being saved or escorted away from danger. Making this another movie with a weak female character as a role model for little girls. which again is shocking considering that she is one of the most bland characters I have ever seen, she is a living black hole of a personality, yet these two guys keep fighting over her. These two guys who by the way, keep telling her that they want to kill her. There are many more problems with the movie but to be fair, this all originates from the source material. Stephanie Meyer...what the fuck, I mean honestly. If you want a cool vampire story, (with real vampires) Than I suggest checking out 1)Thirst 2)Let the Right One In or if you enjoy this excuse for a movie solely for the constant sexual tension I suggest you watch 3)True Blood. The whole show is pretty much the same thing, only they give in to their sexual temptations. I hope you watch my three suggestions as opposed to this boring degrading piece of shit.

Before watching the latest installment in the Twilight saga, I was concerned with three things in the movie that were mentioned in the book. The first would be the actor playing Jacob. Since in the book he increases in height and physique due to his rising status in the werewolf pack, the actor would have to put on some serious muscle before this movie was released. And we all know from the first movie, the actor was not exactly the strongest person shown on screen. The second issue would be the fact that in the book New Moon, nothing interesting or exciting happens for 200 pages after Edward breaks up with Bella. The third issue is the special effects of the werewolves. From the preview, the special effects looked rather weak, but the previews can hide the truth.
After viewing the film, the issues I raised in the previous paragraph were answered. According to the November issue of Men's Health, the actor playing Jacob gained 40lbs of muscle to look the part of a werewolf and it shows on screen since he is shirtless for most of the movie.
The 200 pages in the book where nothing happens is diminished to 1 minute on screen where Bella sits in a chair for three months while the camera moves around her and the window showing the changes in the seasons.
And I was impressed with the special effects of the werewolves since it doesn't look tacky because they look like massive wolves on steroids.
Now that the issues are out of the way, I must admit I was impressed with the movie because it followed the story quite well and I enjoyed the special effects of how the vampires fought against each other in the Volturi banquet room. The Volturi fight scene between Edward and Felix was intense and I liked how they showed the injury on Edward's face is similar to the damage of the marble floors.

I will admit that these are not the worst movies ever and the story isn't that bad, i mean it is mostly Romeo and Juliette. For one i HATE Kristen Stewart, at first i thought i just hated the character of Bella but i realize now it is just Stewart. She has absolutely no ability to show any emotion at all. She is so apathetic looking in her roles, not to mention in every picture she is in her mouth is always hanging open. Secondly, i just can't take any of these character's seriously, i really just don't care about them. The only two characters i do like, Alice and Jasper, hardly get any screen time. To me i just can't believe that Bella and Edward really love each other and maybe that is the actors fault for not being able to show it. They just never seem happy with each other. Secondly these movies are just horribly made, the CGI is lame and there was this awful looking green screen when Bella and Alice are driving in a car. Finally, they have completely ruined the image of "vampires" and "werewolves". The wolves are more like changelings or shape shifters and the vampires don't have fangs and they sparkle in the sunlight. I am okay with re imagining but really? I will admit that these are not the worst movies ever and the story isn't that bad, i mean it is mostly Romeo and Juliette. While this one was better than the first it still failed to suck me in. Overall, the story isn't bad i just think it could have been written a lot better, as far as the movies go.

Though I very much like all of the improvements made on the original Twilight film, New Moon has a few new, and strange problems. The main one being the awkward pauses. At some point, perhaps on a certain ride with Vulturi in an elevator, I was beginning to wonder if I was watching a spin-off of The Office. So many silent scenes can be distracting, and they also start to make you think the director was intentionally padding the running time (for reasons I don't understand). The other main issue is character development. We all know who Bella, Jacob and Edward are - but a good chunk of this cast is brand new. And we don't even get an idea of who any of them are. In that way, it's similar to the book. A wolf pack appears, and you're immediately thrust into their world, without knowing anything about them - barely more than their names. It's the same way in the film... good luck telling two wolves apart. However, the rest of the film is just how I imagined it. It's a spectacle.
