This film kicks a**, pure and simple. It takes the cold, collected coolness of films like Ronin and Leon and adds splash of Luc Besson flair with Asian gangster film style for something that just works and works well. Its not deep, it won't make you praise its character development, but it will trill you and it will never bore you.

I was surprised that I was enjoying the movie up to the first hour, however, it all fell apart in the latter half of the movie. I'll characterize the movie as: first half is a story, and keeps your interest; second half is cliched fight/chase scenes...

I was surprised that I was enjoying the movie up to the first hour, however, it all fell apart in the latter half of the movie. I'll characterize the movie as: first half is a story, and keeps your interest; second half is cliched fight/chase scenes and devoid of point or story. The fight scenes were a joke (a laughable oil fight), the story was forgotten. I liked the potential, unfortunately it fell apart.

This movie was OK, but lacked the appeal of similar action movies; Jason Statham did not have the charisma to make the role convincing. Overall, it was worth watching however, if only for the fight scene in the oil!

fast, exciting and thrilling
Written by Luc Besson (Nikita and Leon) and starring Jason Statham - you can probably guess the nature of this movie: it's rough and has non stop action. if you liked Nikita, Die Hard or even the Bourne movies, I'm sure you will love this one too.
