Not Gory as Title Indicates but Disturbing
THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, directed by Tobe Hooper, is one of the greatest horror films of all time. Despite a lack of gore, it can be considered an example of a true "psychological thriller". The film has a subliminal subtext in the first five minutes (the van where the potential victims are riding pass a bunch of cows) that drive the film as is the performance of Gunnar Hansen as the main antagonist, "Leatherface". The film truly ranks as one of the best scary films made and is a pioneer in the slasher genre.

A real scary film. It doesn't show a lot of blood and guts but in the end it's scarier than a gory, bloody movie. There was a scene that scared me so much it made my toes twitch.
