Good Job Tom Hanks!
Tom hanks was great in this movie. The story is interesting, the charcter interactions are good. The only character I didn't like very much was Catherine Zeta Jone's character. She just isn't a very convincing actress. Tom Hanks, though, did an amazing job.

All in all - a very likable film. I would recommend it with the following disclaimer. Warning: every syllable uttered from the mouth of Catherine Zeta-Jones will undoubtedly hinder the screenplay as well as every other performance. Granted, the screenplay itself has some very cheesy moments, but many of these moments are created by said actress. That said, she didn't entirely ruin the movie. Hanks and Tucci are exceptional and the direction is flawless. Goodbye, Catherine - forever.

This movie isn't going to thrill you, amaze you, dazzel you with special effects, or change your life. However, it will capture your attention for 2 hours and send you away feeling good about Hank's character and all the people he helps along the way. It's also good for a few laughs and fun moments as the story unfolds. You can't go wrong renting this one for a Friday night with the family. I'd rate it PG, nothing very offensive in this one.

Tom Hanks in the role of an immigrant is great. It shows how he can always surprise viewers once again, just when we think we've seen everything from him. I enjoyed seeing how the character manages to get along in his strange situation in spite of the culture clash and being a misfit. A funny comedy but also touching. I enjoyed it very much.

Tom Hanks and Spielberg in a great collaboration
A story about an immigrant who comes to New York on a special quest and finds himself stuck in the terminal for months because of a war in his mother country. As he wait he meets other immigrants and even a beautiful woman... Tom Hanks manages to convey to viewers the continuous waiting. the length of the film helps too... you can see that the human spirit triumphs even when nothing goes right. an excellent movie if a bit long.
