tempting
Yes, this is the same name/ title as a book by Shakespeare, and yes, it is considered a big screen adaptation of that book. A somewhat serious film with great comedy interludes brought to you by none other than the hysterical British actor Russel Brand. It is about time he is cast in something a bit more dramatic and with a bit more depth for him to show his true talent. This movie has it all, starting with a great cast and backdrop, not to mention it is funny, enchanting, dreamlike and dramatic along with a dash of sorcery and magic. Kept me enthralled the entire time even though I was exhausted.

ambitiously bad
Something you can't take from The Tempest is its ambition, too bad you also can't take apart the bad acting.

A bit embarrassing
With the artistic style defined by 300, the character design which resembles The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and the Shakespearean language, The Tempest is a mixture of components combined in an unpleasant dissonant. It is a bit emberassing watching the actors, some of them pretty bad, speaking Shakespearean, all while getting in a CGI Havoc.
