Summary of The Siege at Ruby Ridge
An account of one of the most notorious examples of the unwarranted use of federal force in the history of the United States, The Siege at Ruby Ridge stars Randy Quaid as Randy Weaver and Laura Dern as his wife, Vicki. Weaver, a white supremacist who owned a large number of guns, many of which the government believed he obtained illegally, had been under federal surveillance for some time when, on August 22, 1992 the FBI decided to serve him with an arrest warrant. Descending on his cabin with a number of snipers and armed agents, the agents encountered Weaver's 14 year-old son, beginning an eleven day siege that saw the death of Weaver son and his wife. This Emmy Award nominated film tells the story of that siege and the resulting trial that captivated and disturbed an entire nation.
