9/10Amazing
Even though the story could have been a bit richer and more developed, i still have to say I rather enjoyed seeing this movie. It has a very lifelike quality about it. The fact that it is very slow paced and almost boring at times is this movies hidden secret. The scenes were nicely shot, the location is exotic, the acting is top notch, and the story...well, i do not think anyone will be left untouched by what Hannah had to go through. Aside from the ending, which was a little over the top, i really believed everything that was going on on screen (it gets harder and harder to find that these days). I would recommend this movie to all Sarah Polley fans and anyone who is interested in A River Runs Through It-paced films. If you are thinking about it, just go ahead and watch it.

If you're looking for a fast-moving plot or a complex lot of intertwining characters, you won't find it here; almost everything about this film is subtle. It's sometimes cold and isolating, much like the environment that surrounds our story, but the character development, especially of Hanna (Sarah Polley) is deep, and I feel, the pulse of film. Polley is AMAZING, she should have won awards for this one. Tim Robbins is good, and doesn't overdo it, a good balance with Polley. Great for me.

This was an amazing movie-one of the best I've seen in 2008. The best part about the movie was how the story unfolds in a direction you wouldn't expect. I'm wondering if there is a book that inspired this movie?

Things move too slow and are too quiet for us to get to know the characters in any amount of time; in the end, we DO know them well enough, and there is an ample emotional payoff that makes the journey worth it. But the journey...well, even knowing there's a great payoff, I'm not sure if I'd take it again.

I had just finish reading Maus and this was a perfect movie on that book, the monologue about the shame to have lived is AWESOME it gave me chills.
Very slow in the begining but oh so very worth it!!!!
Definitely worth a queue spot
