School of Rock has everything you need for a killer movie. An excellent comedian, cute kids, awesome music, and even a decent script. A good family safe film. Even Led Zeppelin was willing to contribute to this film, which doesn't happen often. Make sure you check out the bonus feature pitch to the rock gods for permission to use their music.

I didn't really have any expectations before watching this movie. I like Jack Black, but I am by no means his biggest fan. This was a cute movie and it was nice that he got the kids listening to rock rather than candy pop crap.

This movie was a total comedy package. Great laughs from Jack Black who reminds me of the late Chris Farley with his animated body language and gestures. Then there is great rock music hits mixed with a simple plot that holds your attention until the very end for a fun grand finale at the battle-of-the-bands concert. I watched this one twice and laughed just as much during both viewings!

This is pure Jack Black, Jack Black in his element. Whatever you wanna call it. Dewey (Black) just got kicked out of his band before Battle of the Bands, so he needs a new one. What better way than to impersonate your best friend, who's a substitute teacher, and teach a bunch of kids about Rock and Roll? This film is a rip-roaring good time with a bunch of budding child actors who are at their prime in these priceless roles, and they aren't bad musicians either! Great family film. Highly recommended. 1/3/09

nice and funny
I'm not a big Jack Black fan, but I did like this feel-good flick. Another appeal of this movie in my book is Sarah Silverman. Nice music and a few laughs. This is a movie especially for teens, but adults can enjoy it to.
