Honestly a great movie a must watch. Bravo Disney animators it is a great family film with wonderful music and tons of great songs! Lots of funny characters and of course a little romance and some drama to top it off. It is about time there was another Princess and Tiana is no ordinary gal, with spunk to spare and dreams of a bigger and better life shes a winner. Her Prince charming on the other hand is not very charming at all, rude and self involved he has a lot to learn before he can win our leading ladies heart. Oh and becoming human again is at the top of the list for this froggy duo.

A Change Is Coming...
So this movie was raved as Disney's FIRST African-American princess, which made watching it more interesting. Then to see the "princess" spent 90% of the time as a frog?! Wow, Disney, wow.

I'm grew up with Disney movies along these lines and I really think this one brings back that old special something that a lot of kids movies are missing today. It sets some good examples without being didactic, and it's just a sweet story that adults can get into as well. Tiana is the easiest princess to relate to that Disney has yet come up with, and she really is a great role model for little girls. She's a smart young lady who learned from her loving parents the value of hard work in achieving dreams. This movie really brought the whole "wish upon a star" ethic that Disney was built on into the 21st century by finally introducing the idea that ambition is only half the battle- you have to be willing to sacrifice to get the things you want in life. Tiana and Naveen make a wonderful couple and it's great to see Disney putting out movies that will bring the magic to a whole new generation.

I grew up during the Disney Renaissance and movies like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Mulan, and The Lion King will forever be close to my heart. I was excited to hear about Princess and the Frog, and went into the movie with somewhat high expectations. I was not disappointed at all! The story is cute and original, Tiana is a great princess and role model for little girls, and the villain, Dr Facilier, is one of Disney's best. I really loved how Tiana was a strong woman with a goal who was willing to work hard to achieve it. It's a nice evolution from the likes of the helpless Snow White and Cinderella who were only rescued because of their beauty. The few pearl-clutching Puritans on this review board who are all upset over the voodoo elements are over-reacting completely; the villain's scenes are no scarier than those of Scar in The Lion King or Frollo in Hunchback. I highly recommend this movie, not just for kids, but for anyone who was enchanted by the Disney classics I mentioned above. I'm 20 years old and I felt like a little kid again, in awe of Disney's magic. See this movie!
