The Nanny Diaries, 2007

First off, just looking at the cast list and plot, you'd think this movie would have a lot going for it. I was pretty excited to check it out. Well, as much as it has going for it, it has the same amount against it. It's thirty to forty minutes too long. So much of the movie could have been shaved off, and if it had, it easily would have been better. The laughs are genuine, and very funny, but when spread over almost two hrs., they don't come often enough. The cast is very likable, except for the boring Paul Giammati (Don't mark Not Helpful just because you like Giammati, you'll despise him in this movie), who really looks uncomfortable in his role. I would have loved this movie had those big problems been fixed.
