A film without a goal
A meaningless flick without any sort of goal. Just a collection of very mildly interesting characters (who are supposed to be interesting because they are new age) in another collection of scenes without meaning.

I found "MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS" a satire in search of a subject. Ostensibly, the film is based on a non-fiction book about 1970's experiments in ESP, paranormal activities, and psychic powers conducted by the Department of Defense. These hare-brained studies aren't really a suitable target for satire -- since they're already a joke, where's the bite? -- but they're OK for a gentle comedy poking fun at military mental cases. There's little here in the way of a story or conflict, and while a few of the jokes are kinda funny, as a whole the film is a disappointment, especially considering its major stars.
