A hip hop tour-de-force, this documentary delves into the lives and works of some of hottest MCs ever. Filmmaker Peter Spirer (BEEF, TUPAC SHAKUR: THUG ANGEL, DUNSMORE,) hands the mic to countless stars who have helped shape the hip hop scene. They in turn explore their roots, their inspirations, and how they achieved success in the cutthroat world of hip hop. Audiences get to know their favorite artists and watch them both on and offstage. Performers include Rakim, KRS-One, Jay-Z, Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, Common, Talib Kweli, Kanye West, The Clips, and Ghostface Killah, among others. Also included is little-seen archival footage of artists such as LL Cool J, Tupac, Biggie, Nas, Snoop, and the Wu Tang Clan.
