I saw this in the theater, and was a bit surprised to be the only one laughing at times. All the special effects in the world can't compensate for a poor lead actor, a bunch of pseudo-psychological crap, and Trinity's disappointing journey from a...

All the special effects in the world can't compensate for a poor lead actor, a bunch of pseudo-psychological crap, and Trinity's disappointing journey from a badass, independent woman to a stereotypical sci-fi girlfriend.

Easily the best of the trilogy, as it makes a little more sense and employs less of the techno-metaphysical psycho-babble, but that's still not saying much. This movie was more impressive back when its f/x were exciting and new, but now I just find all the slo-mo, bullet-time, and 360-degree pauses to be pointless and obnoxious. I'll admit the basic premise is an intriguing one, albeit an amalgam of so many Star Trek episodes, but it's completely wasted on all these wooden, posing, inexplicably light-sensitive, boring-as-hell characters that we're supposed to care about, but who seem more concerned with looking cool than saving the world. The Matrix should have been a music video, not a feature film.

There are a lot of Matrix haters out there. They have lots of bogus reasons. And I just don't understand these people. They all loved The Matrix when it came out, but now they hate it; most likely because the sequels sucked, but the original sure didn't suck.
OK, I admit the overall concept has to some extent been done before, but it is still ten times more original than any sci-fi/action flicks made then or now. Yes, it makes you think! And sure, there are plenty of plot and/or philosophical holes you could argue into the ground. ButÂ…just don't.
It's visually stunning, perfectly paced, with costumes, editing, special effects and cinematography to put any other movie of it's breed to shame. You can get lost for hours in this world; so stop hating, and re-visit this blood-pumping epic!
