Littlefoot, along with several baby dinosaur pals, must set out across barren, dangerous terrain to reach the Great Valley, encountering perils and adventures along the way. The Land Before Time is a triumph in animation, using traditional methods to create colorfully detailed scenes and character movement. The film serves as an excellent introduction for small children to the fascinating world of dinosaurs.
