The King's Speech, 2010

Before I saw the film I knew it had to be good because of the awesome cast. I liked the way the movie succeeded to be entertaining, funny, interesting and addicting without the usual complicated relationship drama, action or anything. (Someone may think the film's boring, but I think it was just nice and refreshing.) The chemistry between Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush was incredible and Helena Bonham-Carter was just lovely. And the first meeting of Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle was so cute because it reminded me of Pride and Prejudice.

The King’s Speech is really an amazing period piece. It has everything a period piece needs. It relies on one of the most interesting times in history – World War 2; it features the acutely interesting royal family, after a life changing moment for an entire nation – the death of the king. Focused on a really personal problem for the new king. It is no wonder how the film delivers a real compelling emotional drama.
