I always perk up at anything with 'Austen' in the title, so naturally I had high hopes for this film. I even rushed to the video store to rent the DVD as soon as it came out so i wouldn't have to wait for NF to ship it. But despite the fantastic cast (how gorgeous are Emily Blunt & Maria Bello?) i felt the script was just "so-so" & full of tired cliches. The film started out strong, but after the first half felt lost and became way too generic. And what was up with Emily Blunt's hair? It looked like a cheap wig, and the way she kept patting it down just made it worse. Very distracting! I kept expecting her to pull it off to reveal her own hair as part of the plot (& was kind of bummed when that didn't happen & it turned out to merely be poor styling!) All in all, a great concept for a film, but the story & script should have been much stronger given such a radiant cast and such rich material. ~NN
