THE HOURS: The entire film is beautifully done, the actors give wonderful performances, I would say that this is the best work ever done by Nicole Kidman and Julianne Moore. Even knowing that Nicole Kidman is wearing a prosthetic nose to look more like the character she is playing you still struggle to see if that is Nicole under that make-up, that is how good she is in this role. Nicole is completely submerged into the character, it is truly a beautiful thing to watch. I loved this movie and I give 5.0 STARS.

I watched this less than a month ago. I remember liking it, and thinking that the actresses did a fantastic job. And yet, a month on, I simply cannot remember more than a small handful of scenes, and I have no idea how any of the stories byond the modern day one ended. The movie just did not stick in my brain.

What an astounding movie! A true masterpiece of writing, acting, directing, and musical score. The scenes flow brilliantly into one another with repeated images such as hand arranging flowers or breaking eggs, helping to carry us from one time period and set of characters to the next. The overlapping of stories and characters is amazing, poignant, and gripping. The actresses show their brilliance in craft as they each embace the complexity of their characters. The directing is spot on, and the film is beautiful and lush to watch. It's simultaneously heartrbreaking and inspiring. Don't miss this one.
