Surprisingly good
Watched this over Christmas and it was perfect for snuggling up with my partner for a late night movie on a cold night. The film starts off leading to you think that the main characters are very stereotypical but midway through the movie you realise your first impressions were wrong.
The chemistry between the characters is good, always being kept funny yet sweet at the same time. Towards the end I really empathised with the characters.
Enjoyed this movie and would recommend it for any loved up couple to watch.

Not the movie of the year, yet, I would advise you to watch it, girls, just for Jude Law, amazingly hot in it ^^. It is also quite nice to watch anyway, if you want to feel good in front of a movie without thinking too much. Cute, in my humble opinion.

Im still questioning giving this movie a second star. It IS well-made but the direction is execrable! Everyone looks great but their actions are ludicrous. Cameron Diaz gets adorably drunk yet is remarkably hangover-free the following morning. Kate Winslet wakes up to the radio and suddenly plays air guitar while lying in bed. EMBARRASSING!!!
The best thing about the movie by far is Kate Winslets relationship with Eli Wallach. The only relationship with any honesty.
I never would have seen this movie on my own but the guy I was dating at the time wanted to see it. Needless to say, were no longer dating.

The characters are well written and likable. The settings are first class and I have to admit that I was sucked into this movie. Have to give credit where credit is due (I think this is my 3rd cheesy line so far). Go see this movie and dont be so cynical.

Very endearing film
Kate Winslets character is suffering from unrequited love. When the man she is infatuated with becomes engaged, she decided to leave her little town in England and make a house exchange with a young and workaliholic ad execute (played by Cameron Diaz). What ensues is each woman, taken out of her comfortable world, learns to change and grow and fix their flaws in order to find happiness. Both woman fall in love and lead a new life on account on the 'holiday' in their lives. I found this film very touching, especially when Kate Winslets character is suffering because she is single and not with the one she loves. An amazing film.

Sweet romantic comedy
I was able to enjoy, even though I expected more. If you want a film with limited profanity and down-to-earth life stories, then this movie is for you. All in all it's not very special but a likeable flick.
