I thought this might be just like the film Shattered glass but this was even better. I REALLY ENJOYED THIS FILM and Richard Gere performed beyond expectations. I don't want to give too much away but this is an adult film that does have alot of talking but captures your attention the entire time. This is the type of film that is released in the fall along with the other "Oscar" type films. The Hoax is all about lying and pulling off the ultimate scheme and how afar you are willing to take it! I found this film to be even better than Shattered Glass and was worth all the accolades it recieved. I truly enjoyed this film and hope others will evetually see this well done cinema.

"The Hoax" holds your interest, mostly because the true story of Clifford Irving's hoax -- a fake autobiography of multimillionaire mystery man Howard Hughes -- is a great one. The film itself doesn't add much beyond the tale, except for the plausible suggestion that Hughes, despite whatever he might have thought about the hoax, used it to his advantage to scare the Nixon White House into doing his bidding on a business matter. But what a tale it is.
