I had heard from friends that this movie was a must see, so I started watching it with high expectations, I wasn't disappointed. My wife and I watched this movie almost every night for the next week. All of the actors play well of each other and every reaction is believable. Sure we've all seen the wacky bachelor party style movies, but this movie put a fresh spin on an old idea. I just hope the second one can hold up

Just awful
Absolutely the most disappointing movie of 2009 for me. I've been a fan of Zach's for years and was glad that he was finally got his "breakout role" (after 10 years of films, specials, even his own show...), but he probably should have kept waiting....

Just awful
Absolutely the most disappointing movie of 2009 for me. I've been a fan of Zach's for years and was glad that he was finally got his "breakout role" (after 10 years of films, specials, even his own show...), but he probably should have kept waiting. I'm honestly terrified that the success of this garbage movie will have a negative effect on potentially great comedy films. Hopefully they keep making Hangover sequels of this so the writers don't have time to taint other comedy films.
The only positive is I know which girls not to date when they say they loved this movie.

It was a very funny movie watching Brad, Zach and Ed trying to retrace their steps from the bachelor party the night before. They woke up in the morning with their friend (the groom) missing and they can't remember a thing. It's funny when the characters learn what happened to them previously at the same time that you do. Zach the dim-witted to be brother-in-law was hilarious in this.

I was so disappointed in The Hangover. I had heard for months that it was hilarious, so I was really looking forward to finally getting it. I thought it was completely predictable and the jokes were stale. I don't require that silly comedies make total logical sense, but the plot holes were ridiculous. It reminded my boyfriend of another really horrible movie -- "Dude, Where's My Car?" The plot was very similar and the jokes were just as dumb. And it's not just a question of me not liking this genre -- I loved Superbad, for instance, and that has a ridiculous plot and was made to appeal to young men, too. I just think this was uninspired. I especially hated the stereotypical ball-busting girlfriend of Ed Helms' character -- lame, writers. Surely you could have been more creative than that.

Zach Galifianakis shines in this generally amusing comedy with a few laugh-out-loud moments. It could have benefited from pumping up the absurdity and debauchery more, even in the unrated cut, but remains quite a lot of fun nonetheless.
