With a keen eye for nuance and a carefully structured script, Cimino interweaves the rituals great and small that make up the lives of his characters, creating a poignant sense of what remained constant and what was forever changed by their experience of the war.

Very enjoyable. I loved everyone's performances in this movie. The Russian roulette scenes were disturbing. However, they brought suspense and emotion to the movie. I loved Christopher Walken and Meryl Streep in this movie. Read and rate it

It's worth it to suffer through the tediously long wedding reception scenes

Really, the long boring scenes aren't that bad. But I do have to admit that until the Vietnam scenes, I didn't know why this movie was so acclaimed and memorable to everyone. But holy hell, you cannot believe you were naive enough to think that you... Read and rate it
