Under normal circumstances I might have reviewed this DVD, but when NF implemented the new DVD page detail design they removed friends ratings, top 10 lists and the ability to send movie notes. That made it harder for me and others to find movies...

Only worth mentioning since I'll never forget the scene of seven or eight minutes in which a nutty guy puts a jet engine on his car in a lame-brained attempt to set some sort of speed record (to impress his girlfriend, and "get on TV."). A sidesplitting bit of comedy. And there are two or three other bits that offer about three minutes of laughs each---the tragicomic ends of several hapless people which are, shamefully, rather funny. But in between the segments it is a kind of plodding bit of low-key comedy that might appeal to big fans of "Monk," whom the shambling main character strongly resembles. Like me, you may be a fan of Winona Ryder, but she is such a cipher here, I barely knew it was her. Watch it on instant and zip through to the handful of funny bits. I rarely if ever recommend such crude cherry-picking but for me the rest is too ordinary for the most part. (Jet-guy starts at about the 36-minute mark.) 5.09

This is one of the most well written, well directed films I have ever seen. This movie is so underappreciated for the magnificence of this film! Only 221 people including myself at the time of this review saw this film out of the entire Flixster...
