I enjoyed "Altar Boys" but not as much as Donnie Darko. The situations were not very realistic, especially in the end when Kulkin's cahracter finally gets to execute his plan.
I loved the animation (What else can you expect from Spawn creator Tod Mcfarlane?) and I loved Jodie Foster and Vincent D'onofrio.
My probelm was that there were so many issues that were just left open like the young female lead's incest, why the nun was so hated and what happened to Kieran Kulkin's character that makes him such an outlandish teenager. There is a scene with a dying dog that give you a hint about him, but it never goes any further.
"Altar Boys" is ok, but it really leaves you left wondering "Where's the rest of the movie?"

I was looking forward to this movie when I heard about it. I have to say I wasn't dissapointed. This movie has all the good elements of a "coming-of-age" movie, the lost innocense, the need to be recognized as an individual and even the "hearbreaking loss". This movie doesn't really fall into the Comedy catagory as it says, i think of it more as a teen-drama then anything
