Summary of The Call of the Wild
This epic Alaskan adventure story features Clark Gable as prospector Jack Thornton. After losing his money gambling, Thornton acquires a huge dog, Buck, which is considered too vicious to be a sled dog. Thornton patiently trains the animal, then sets out with his friend Shorty Hoolihan (Jack Oakie) for the wilderness in search of gold. Thereafter they must battle the weather, the wilds, and crooks in their attempts to make their fortunes, and Thornton finds a love interest in the wife of a missing prospector.
