Sometimes a movie hovers in one spot for so long that you are hoping, begging that it goes to the next level. In the last thirty minutes of The Brave One, it does just that. This movie is very similar to Death Sentence, but I liked this one better....

Sometimes a movie hovers in one spot for so long that you are hoping, begging that it goes to the next level. In the last thirty minutes of The Brave One, it does just that. This movie is very similar to Death Sentence, but I liked this one better. This one has more heart... or rather, meaning behind the murders. Also, it was very tense rather than thrilling. Terrence Howard continues to impress me in everything he does, and Jodie Foster deserves the same amount of accolades for this film. They both pulled off their roles here better than anyone else could. Very good movie. It really makes you think.

Jodie Foster gets it right! Best movie she's been in since "The Accused" (a 'must see' if you missed it). While somewhat reminiscent of Charles Bronson's vigilante series this one has an entirely different kind of twist to it. And the ending is......

Jodie Foster's vengeance flick is more fun than it should be and darker than you'd expect. What really puts it over the top for me is it's unpredictability; this film is not afraid to do some thngs you don't expect, and maybe even some things you don;t want, but it refuses to be anything other than what it is. Is it a feminist manifesto? I think not; really, it's just a film about the dark recesses of the human soul, and how deep the rabbit hole goes.
