I really liked the first Bourne movie, "Bourne Identity", so when "Bourne Supremacy" came out I could hardly wait to see it. I was disappointed, because I did not like it as much as I liked the first movie "Bourne Identity"....

I really liked the first Bourne movie, "Bourne Identity", so when "Bourne Supremacy" came out I could hardly wait to see it. I was disappointed, because I did not like it as much as I liked the first movie "Bourne Identity". The main reason is that the character played by Franka Potente (Marie) gets killed off in the beginning or in the first reel. When that happened I was bummed out. Because I always felt that (Marie), was the magic that made the original Bourne movie so appealing. So in the "Bourne Supremacy" they killed "THE MAGIC". Even though the film was good without the "Marie" character, I just felt it would have been much better if they did not kill her off.
"Nicky" the character played by Julia Stiles is back, and I consider her to be part of the original magic in the first Bourne movie. A good movie A great Action Movie. Watch it for yourself and decide how you feel about the "Marie" character being killed off.
Joan Allen rocks as (Pamela Landy) she was also very good in "The Crucible" 1996.

Decent movie in Borne style
If you liked the first you will probably like this one, too. Not bad for a sequel.

I enjoyed The Bourne Identity so much that I couldn't wait to see this movie and saw it on opening day. I've considered Matt Damon a great actor after he has done such great movies as The Bourne Identity and Rounders. This movie doesn't disappoint.
If you haven't seen the Bourne Identity you need to before you see this movie. Much of what is referenced in the Bourne Supremacy, is from the Bourne Identity and you will be lost without seeing the first movie. Matt Damon continues to do an excellent job as Jason Bourne. As with all sequel, I was not expecting to see as good of a movie as the original, but I was pleasantly surprised. The premise of this movie is completely different then in the first one as in the first one he doesn't know who he is, in this one, there's no doubt in his mind. This is the best spy movie I have seen since the Bourne Identity and would recommend it strongly to the James Bond - Mission Impossible crowd.
Unlike the first one, there is no love scenes in this movie, it is packed with action and violence from beginning to end. Language flows freely in this movie.
This movie was over an hour and a half long yet my brother and I both agreed that you were pulled into this movie so much that it seemed like the movie wasn't longer then 30 minutes.

Maybe I need to give this movie another chance and watch it again, because I really like the other two movies in this series, and I really wanted to like this one.
However, this is one of the few movies I've watched where I was completely irritated...

Maybe I need to give this movie another chance and watch it again, because I really like the other two movies in this series, and I really wanted to like this one.
However, this is one of the few movies I've watched where I was completely irritated at the end. Why? Holes in the plot? Badly staged action sequences? Campy acting?
I honestly have no idea.
I don't know what the plot was. I never saw the noted incredible car chase. I could barely read expressions on peoples' faces. I couldn't follow the movie, and I didn't get it, for one reason: ENDLESS NAUSEATING SHAKING CAMERA.
I hated the shaking camera in this film. I felt like I missed what might have been a good movie because the camera got in the way. I actually yelled at the screen during the car chase because I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING but jerky, shaky movements, and I wanted the camera to hold still so I could see the car chase!
Again, maybe I need to give this movie another chance, but not until I have medicine for sea-sickness within reaching distance.

It's a great continuation from the first movie and really keeps the action interesting. What I do like about these movies is they try to stay based in as much of reality as possible, no James Bond gadgets and impossible escapes (although the taxi chase did push the limits). Damon plays a very likable and sympathetic character and the rest of the excellent cast supports the movie. I'm looking forward to seeing the last in the series.
