The Ballad of Jack and Rose, 2005

Told through the eyes of a woman this movie temps the viewer with characters that are neither good nor bad. Instead the director colors them with an array of different traits as she does her selection of landscapes and simple yet beatiful costumes. It is really a love story , between one man and a dream, and oddly between a daughter and a father. Their playground is an abandoned commune in the late 80s , so well depicted that one can smell the humidity of the wood and the green roof over therir heads. It is poetic and sad yet lovely to watch.
